My Passion

Enthusiastic motivating individual who passionately seeks to serve young adults with the transition from school-to-careers. Creative communicator, inspirational speaker, articulate, compassionate risk taker who believes in the power of capitalizing on every teachable moment especially those that allow the opportunity to encourage intentional learning for young adults. Loving, responsible, determined individual consistently aspiring to encourage herself and others to diligently pursue continuing educational opportunities that support the dreams of young adults.

Began as an Office Manager/Receptionist with a vision as a result successfully acquired knowledge and experience as a grant writer, program coordinator, teacher/motivational speaker for under privileged adults and at risk young adults. Diligently studied the Bible believing and applying its virtues to my personal and professional life as a local minister. As a result have designed and facilitated numerous workshops/seminars, made the Dean’s List, served young adults as a volunteer, established a positive community network, designed lesson plans, completed college courses in support of bringing the vision to the forefront of my personal and professional life.

Adult Literacy Education Center Coordinator, with over a 30-year career distinguished by promotion to challenging multi-level community engagement assignments. Experience includes ministry, education, non-profit business, literacy, staff development, and corporate training environments.

She has leaped tremendous bounds successfully accomplishing her goals as a minister, grant writer, program coordinator, teacher, motivational speaker, workshop developer and facilitator.  Diligently developing an extensive expert background in Biblical studies, written communications, facilitating workforce readiness skills, specialized skills in developing individualized programs for personal and group centered learning environments, motivator, team Builder, designing and implementing strategic planning for community development.

Charlene is living her life like it’s golden, utilizing her personal and professional life experiences accomplishing her heart’s desire to work full time ministry as Fayetteville Urban Ministry’s Adult Literacy Education Center Coordinator.  Charlene’s mantra is “Hit the Ground Running.

Diligence, Willingness and Faithfulness has allowed this enthusiastic motivating individual to passionately seek literacy and career readiness strategies to empower all to diligently pursue educational opportunities that support the manifestation of personal dreams.

Charlene loves humor, working with young adults, theology, dancing, reading, writing, learning, enhancing spiritual growth, crocheting, making jewelry, community involvement, traveling, singing, volunteering for structured at risk youth initiatives, crafts, painting, art shows, plays, concerts, history, museums and studying without ceasing.

Caffeine is her fuel for super power and the day might not happen without it.  Charlene puts her coffee in her coffee no sugar, no cream and that’s when the day begins to make sense.  Her best friends get dressed and ready when they know she’s had a cup for fear of being left.
